RIGA - Following an invitation from the Turkish Independent Industrialist and Businessmen’s Association (MUSIAD), Economy Minister Daniels Pavluts went to Istanbul on Thursday, October 11. During his working visit, Pavluts will be attending the organized international business forum, where he will give a presentation about the current economic situation and investment opportunities in Latvia.

“Goods and services dynamics have been growing rapidly during recent years. Export data shows that Latvian businessmen have begun searching for their niche in the Turkish market. Turkey’s economic development and internal demand increase offers opportunities just for that,” the minister comments.
MUSIAD is one of the most influential Turkish business organizations. It was founded 20 years ago and currently unites more than 5 500 individual members and 15 000 companies. According to MUSIAD, its members provide more than 15 percent of Turkey’s GDP.

Latvia exports metals and their products (63.8%) to Turkey, as well as mineral products (11.5%), plant products (6.7%), meat products (6.5%), wood and related products (5.3%), and other products (6.2%).
