Riga blast not caused by bomb

RIGA - The investigation into the blast that shocked the historic Old Town of Riga late last month has ruled out the possibility that a bomb was involved.Authorities have based this conclusion on results of forensic testing conducted on the remains of the white Volkswagen Passat which exploded just before midnight Sept. 30.The blast destroyed the car and caused the toy store it was parked beside on Audeju Street to burst into flames.
