Swedbank repays early, cuts costs

VILNIUS - Under the request of the Nordic bank Swedbank, the board of the Bank of Lithuania issued permission for it to repay, before maturity, two subordinated loans obtained from the Estonian branch of  Swedbank: one loan in the amount of 60 million euros and the other for 70 million euros, reports LETA.These loans were received according to the agreements as of Feb. 8, 2008, and Aug. 31, 2006, and mature, respectively, on Sept. 1, 2017 and Feb. 12, 2016.By taking this decision, the Bank of Lithuania considered the fact that the capital adequacy ratio of both Swedbank and ...
