RIGA - Leading Latvian ice hockey player Martins Karsums has declared himself unavailable for the 2012 IIHF World Championships, with more players also likely to drop out of the preliminary squad prior to the tournament’s commencement on May 4.Talking to leading Latvian sports Web site, www.sportacentrs.com earlier this week, Karsums announced that he was withdrawing from the squad playing in Sweden and Finland, as well as next month’s build-up games, in order to undergo surgery on his knee.The 26-year-old missed last year’s world championships in Slovakia becau...
