Voters crow, pols pecked in chicken-town Kekava

KEKAVA - A large turnout in this town located 15 kilometers southeast of Riga showed that voters were not too chicken to have their say in the Oct. 3 elections and referendum. They hatched support for a wide variety of parties and clucked in favor of abolishing the citizenship law amendments.Kekava, district population 11,500, is best known for its large poultry factory, established in the 1960s, which today employs 600 people.
