RIGA - Depending on whom you ask, the recent election victory by Gerhard Schroeder in Germany may slow down the process of European Union (EU) expansion eastwards. In a news conference the day after his election victory, Germany's new chancellor vowed not to radically alter the country's foreign policy."No one needs to have any worries, we will ensure foreign policy continuity," the BBC reported him saying.
