Liquor producers blast new anti-bootleg plan

RIGA - Representatives of Latvia’s leading liquor producer’s association have criticized the country’s new plan to combat bootlegging.The Liquor Producers and Traders Association representatives told “Nozare.lv”, the business-oriented sister website of national news agency LETA, that curbing the bootleg liquor market must not be done at the expense of legal business. LETA reported that the Health Ministry’s plan for reducing consumption of liquor and combating alcoholism in 2012-2014 was approved at a meeting of state secretaries on February 9....
