New company registrations up in Estonia

TALLINN - World Bank figures show that registrations of new limited liability companies (the commonest kind of startup and a good indicator of entrepreneurial vim) were down by 12.1 percent in the EU in 2009, the latest year for which figures are available, with no signs of improvement since, reports The Economist. But in Estonia over 14,000 companies were registered in 2011, 40 percent more than in the same period in 2008.
