Kubilius against VAT reduction

VILNIUS - Lithuanian Prime Minister Andrius Kubilius said that he does not approve of a proposal to reduce VAT for the press to 9 percent, reports ELTA. This issue is to be discussed in the Seimas spring session.On Dec. 28, on Lithuanian National Television, Kubilius said that one of his lead Homeland Union - Lithuanian Christian Democrat party’s goals was to remove the reduced VAT proposal because the revenues gained from this tax have fallen.Kubilius said the Seimas has been trying to help in solving problems of the local press in regional areas.
