Dear TBT,

It is a pleasure to reflect on the Baltic Assembly Literature, Art and Science prizes which were announced on Friday (Oct. 14), as the Literature prize is awarded to Arvydas Juozaitis for his ‘Ryga as Nobody’s Civilization.’ In September Linas Jegelvicius made an interview with AJ for ‘Opinion,’ and perfectly focused on those aspects of the book which made it the winner.
I would suggest on this occasion to ask for Juozaitis’ opinion about the Baltic Assembly as an institution because he really critically reflects on its purposefulness, practical work between the sessions, its structure based on participation of three parties which still reminds about the Soviet ‘Pribaltika.’

Rima Pociute,
Riga.
