Last year, the popular Latvian social networking portal Draugiem.lv, which is owned by the company Draugiem Ltd., operated with 389,105 lats (555,800 euros) in profit, which was a two-fold increase compared to the previous year, reports Nozare.lv. The company posted 195,518 lats in profit in 2009. Last year the company achieved 4.2 million lats in turnover, 16.9 percent more than in 2009, when the company posted 3.6 million lats in turnover. The social networking portal has over two million registered users.

Construction company RBSSkals achieved 25.1 million lats (35.8 million euros) in consolidated turnover in 2010, which is 20.8 percent less than in 2009, reports Nozare.lv. In 2010, RBSSkals posted 885,993 lats in consolidated profit. In 2009, the company’s consolidated profit amounted to 1.6 million lats. RBSSkals parent company operated with 11.2 million lats in turnover in 2010. In 2009, the company’s turnover amounted to 16.9 million lats; in 2008 it was 11,752,098 lats. RBSSkals was established in 1999, when the construction companies RBS Projekts and Skals Solid merged. RBSSkals consists of 14 subsidiaries as well as seven associated and joint companies. The concern employs more than 400 people.

Estonian publishing group Ekspress Group announced that the group’s sales in August increased by 19 percent compared to the same period the previous year, reports LETA. Sales were 4.4 million euros versus 3.7 million euros the same time last year. When eliminating the impact of the increased shareholding in Eesti Paevaleht from the sales growth, sales increased by 13 percent. In the online media segment, all countries showed growth, yielding an overall rate of 29.6 percent. In the periodicals segment, growth was 9.6 percent; the advertising sales of all the publications increased; the advertising and subscription sales of Eesti Paevaleht remained basically at the same level as in the previous year. The printing services segment increased by 26 percent.
