Palameika finishes 11th in Daegu

DAEGU, South Korea – Latvia’s Madara Palameika has failed to make an impact in the women’s javelin final at the IAAF World Championships, finishing the event in 11th position. Qualifying for Friday’s final in 11th position with a best throw of 59.78 meters, Palameika could not better her position in the final with her best throw only registering 58.08 meters, nearly 13 meters behind event winner Maria Abakumova of Russia. 24-year-old Palameika is the Latvian female record holder in javelin, having thrown a personal best of 64.51 meter...
