Latvia hockey signs Canadian as new head coach

RIGA, Latvia – Following the resignation of Olegs Znaroks as head coach of the Latvian national ice hockey team, Latvia has looked abroad to find his replacement. The Latvian Hockey Federation (LHF) announced on Wednesday that for the up and coming season Canadian Ted Nolan will be the coach of the national ice hockey team, with the option of a mutual two-year contract. The LHF has been seeking a new head trainer throughout summer with Kirovs Lipmans travelling to North America earlier in the summer to interview potential candidates.
