Estonian energy company gets new Finnish connection

TALLINN - The Estonian energy company Eesti Energia has finally struck an agreement with partners in Finland that will allow it to export electricity to Scandinavia via an underwater, high-voltage cable."This will be the first real link between Estonia's and Finland's power grids," Gunnar Okk, Eesti Energia's board chairman told the Baltic News Service.The cable, which will cost about $100 million to install, will be laid in cooperation with international electric installations producer ABB, Pohjalan Voima OY and Helsingin Energia from Finland and Graningenverkens AB, which is one of the fi...
