It is quite understandable why the support for the EU is below 50 percent of the population in the majority of so-called ‘old’ EU member states. Some EU decisions can irritate. For example, eurocrats decided to gradually phase out the sale of all incandescent light bulbs by 2012, without thinking properly about the alternatives. There are no more good old traditional 100 watt bulbs in our shops. Thankfully, 60 watt incandescent light bulbs are still available.
