Industrial output stable for Latvia

RIGA - Industrial production levels in Latvia fell 0.3 percent in November 2010, compared to the previous month, according to seasonally-adjusted data at constant prices, reports Nozare.lv. Mining and quarrying led the drop, weakening by 5.1 percent; manufacturing activity fell by 0.6 percent, but in electricity and gas supply there was an increase of 2 percent, show data at the Central Statistical Bureau.

Compared to November of last year, industrial production output in November 2010 increased by 11.4 percent, according to workday adjusted data at constant prices. Industrial production output increased 13.1 percent in mining and quarrying, 12.4 percent in manufacturing, 6.9 percent in electricity and gas supply.
Most notable growth in industrial production output in manufacturing was recorded in the manufacture of other non-metallic mineral products - by 63.6 percent, in manufacture of computer, electronic and optical products - by 56.6 percent, in manufacture of electrical equipment - by 39.5 percent.

Industrial production output for the month comprised 373.6 million lats (533.7 million euros) at current prices.
