Korhonen acted without authorisation in Joutsen Media case -HS

Jarmo Korhonen, the Centre's party secretary, acted without authorisation in providing proxies for participants at Centre affiliated publishing company Joutsen Media's annual general meeting, Finnish national daily Helsingin Sanomat reported on Friday.

Eero Lankia, the Centre's former party secretary, told the paper that Korhonen should not have independently signed powers of attorney for participants at the meeting, which ultimately decided on a complete overhaul of Joutsen Media's board of directors.

Unlike Matti Vanhanen, the Centre Party chair and Finland's prime minister, Lankia considered the matter to be a serious one. Vanhanen said Thursday that Korhonen's actions were not a major problem and that it was part of the party secretary's job to sign such documents.
