Telecommunications operator DNA to buy Welho

Finnish telecommunications operator DNA announced on Monday that it is to buy cable television and internet service provider Welho's business operations from media group Sanoma.

The selling price is 200 million euros, and the transaction will make Sanoma the second largest owner of DNA.

Already a strong player in mobile phone markets, DNA would become Finland's largest cable television provider with a 43 per cent market share. The transaction still needs to be approved by competition officials and the government.
