Tiitinen says he has no recollection of names on Stasi list

Seppo Tiitinen, the secretary-general of Parliament, told the Finnish News Agency (STT) on Wednesday morning that he does not remember the names on the so-called Tiitinen list.

According to Mr Tiitinen, he did not commit the names to memory when he and Mauno Koivisto, then Finland's president, concluded that the list did not necessitate action some twenty years ago.

Mr Tiitinen added that he was not surprised by the Supreme Administrative Court's decision on Wednesday to support the Finnish Security Police (Supo) in withholding the list.
