Oikeutta eläimille, a Finnish animal rights group, said Monday that Matti Vanhanen (centre), the prime minister, should get his facts straight before posting "rash comments" on his blog.
Last month, the Finnish Broadcasting Company (YLE) aired footage shot by Oikeutta elämille on Finnish fur farms, with the images appearing to show serious animal welfare violations.
Mr Vanhanen wrote in a blog entry at the weekend that the shocking footage might be of cages reserved for sick animals and blamed the public broadcaster for not checking the matter.
