Kimmo Kiljunen, an MP for Finland's opposition Social Democrats, said Tuesday that the government should call in the army to help keep railway points clear of snow.
"Conscripts could clear points under the supervision and oversight of experienced professionals," Mr Kiljunen said in a written question.
He added that the government could request executive assistance from the Defence Forces under exceptional circumstances.
