Counterfeit medicines turn a brisk trade in Finland

The Finns' reputation as a law-abiding people has been bolstered by a recent study surveying the market for counterfeit medicines. The study's results indicate that the majority of Finns are familiar with the risks associated with counterfeit medicines, and are aware that purchasing them is illegal.

The demand for counterfeit drugs is weaker in Finland than in many other Western European countries. Around one in eight Finns has purchased a prescription drug without the requisite prescription, whereas more than a third of Germans and Italians have done the same.
