MEZOTNE - Prime Ministers from the three Baltic States have pledged to further deepen regional cooperation at a meeting held in Mezotne Castle in Latvia.

Estonian Prime Minister Andrus Ansip, Latvian Prime Minister Valdis Dombrovskis and Lithuanian Prime Minister Andrius Kubilius discussed the economic situation in the countries.

“We must keep our economic environment stable and safe, only then may we experience a new rise,” Ansip said. “We can grow into the most competitive region in Europe.”

The three heads of government decided that several priorities would be agreed upon for enhancing economic cooperation among the Baltic countries.

The Prime Minister added that in order to increase the credibility of the economic environment, it is important for Estonia to join the Eurozone in 2011.

The three prime minister also expressed hopes that a number of new bi-lateral agreements could be achieved.

Dombrovskis said that in addition to the economy, the three prime ministers discussed defense issues and national security.
