TOO FAR RIGHT?

Dear TBT,

Having read some of the recently published letters to the editor (What’s he done? TBT 676, Back to Our Roots, TBT 675), I couldn’t help wondering if the people who wrote them realize that we are already living in the 21st century, and that at this time and day, we are FREE to decide how we should live, whether or not women should have children, and who we should marry?
It sounds like the bigotry so ruthlessly propagated by the ultra-conservative religious circles [which] seem to influence some minds so much that hatred seems to emanate from them, totally unabated. Excuse me, but hate, including xenophobia, racism and homophobia, are NOT the moral values that you so much try to protect!

Is there any surprise then that so many people worldwide turn away from official Catholic doctrine and prefer their own internal spirituality, to the senseless dogmatism of religious officialdom.
