Ivangorod likely to stay in Russia

NARVA – Reports that the cash-strapped Russian town of Ivangorod is lobbying to become a part of the Estonian republic were, to paraphrase Mark Twain, much exaggerated.According to Ivangorod Mayor Pavel Grigoryev, residents of the town, which is located just over the Estonian-Russian border, were fed up with a dwindling water supply that has been incrementally cut by the AS Narva Vesi water company because the Russian town could not settle its debts to its Estonian supplier."There is no actual likelihood of Ivangorod being joined to the Estonian Republic," said Grigoryev, despite rumors tha...
