Frontas is one of the newest political parties in Lithuania, founded by breakaway Social Democrat Algirdas Paleckis. Formed just before last year's elections, Frontas failed to cross the 5 percent mark, and did not gain enough votes to enter Parliament. Paleckis recently organized a rally demanding the government stand down and was a prominent figure at the January protests that descended into riots.
