I walked some relatives round the Old Town in Vilnius on May 1st. By mid afternoon the streets were absolutely packed with visitors, yet, imagine my surprise on discovering that, with the exception of food shops, nearly every single retail shop was closed for the Holiday.
Haven't these shop owners ever heard of the old American maxim always to... go fishing when the fish are biting. What a missed opportunity.
