Response to Irish announcement

In reaction on your ad in The Baltic Times [for healthcare workers in Ireland] I can tell you I am shocked about your actions. A while ago the Irish government put a similar advertisement in this newspaper, attracting police personnel for their country. The Latvian government reacted on this with the urgent request not to attract staff from Latvia in order not to make problems with a shortage of police staff bigger, and so jeopardizing the security in the country.

I don't think I have to explain to you what the result of your advertisement will be. Already understaffed, the hospitals will face even more problems keeping staff in Latvia. I think you can easy realize that this export of labor will directly jeopardize the quality of healthcare in our country.

Of course in the EU, labor is free within all countries, nevertheless I feel that this ad is ethically completely wrong. Especially from a medical institute, I never expected this.
