RIGA – More than two weeks and one minister of education and science later, about 45,000 teachers in Latvia launched their second one-day strike on Dec. 1.The Education and Scientific Trade Workers Union of Latvia, or LIDZA, decided to walk on Nov. 26 after a meeting with Prime Minister Andris Skele failed to reach an agreement on a salary increase.
