RIGA - The first time I went to the off-beat Komuta-tors art center, I was stunned. Bicycles that looked more like abstract art than modes of transportation were scattered throughout the large room  of this building in Andrejsala, interspersed by twisted half-finished parts.  I instantly liked it. The feature piece, raised on a platform above the rest, was a bike with skis attached on the wheels. I had seen snow bikes before, but this was something completely different. It had gears.
