Last week's Outlook, "A sneak preview of next year's headlines," [Dec. 20, 2007] was one of the funniest articles I've read in TBT for a long time. The wit and parody was dead on and had me snickering all the way through.
Given the state of Latvia's political system, and the absurdity of much that abounds in all three Baltic states today, a half-serious mockery of these countries is both refreshing and alleviating. I especially enjoyed the "virtual Bronze Soldier" idea and the bit about Vilnius banning rainbows. And some of your quotes were pure comic genius. I hope the staff enjoyed writing that piece as much as I enjoyed reading it.
All the best in the New Year,
