It's good to see that Vaira Vike-Freiberga is still playing a somewhat active voice in Latvian society. I read with interest in your last edition that she made comments about the alleged terrorist group working within Latvia 's the group that she was never informed of during her time as head of state ("Alleged assassin 'jumped off bridge'", #576). She was there again, commenting on the election of potentially dubious politicians ("Latvija in brief", #576).
It's important that stays around to keep a check on how things are going. Latvia needs a strong figurehead. Zatlers seems to be whispering out contradictory suggestions, telling folk to save more, yet at the same time telling bosses to freeze wages. Can we have Vaira back, please?
