The Latvian judiciary has been badly shaken in recent weeks by the publication of transcripts of phone conversations, allegedly between high ranking lawyers, judges and politicians, which imply widespread corruption. The conversations 's recorded nearly a decade ago 's were anonymously left in the mailbox of prominent journalist Lato Lapsa, who is well known for publishing controversial documents he has received this way.
