ST. PATRICK'S DAY IN THE BALTICS

Celebrating Ireland's National Day on the 17th of March has become a worldwide event with parades, concerts and other events taking place wherever the green is worn. Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania are not to be left out and the national day will be marked by a number of receptions and concerts in each of the capitals.

In Riga on the 15th of March, a performance of Irish choral music by the Latvian choir Ave Sol will be followed by a reception hosted by the Ambassador of Ireland to Latvia H.E. Mr Tim Mawe.
In Vilnius on the 16th of March, the Ambassador of Ireland to Lithuania H.E. Mr Donal Denham will host a National Day reception in the Rotuse. On the same day, at 5 p.m. in Kaunas, students are organizing a St Patrick's parade which will start at the Town Hall.

On the 17th of March at 7 p.m., at St Catherine's Church, the group "Sephira" from Ireland and the St Christopher Chamber Orchestra (Vilnius), sponsored by the Embassy of Ireland, will present a program offering Lithuanian interpretations of Irish tunes.
