No speak English?

I moved from the U.K. two years ago and now happily reside in the countryside of Latvia. When visiting restaurants, I read the menu and then check it against the English translation; I am appalled at the result, the English does not make sense and does not compare with the Latvian.It has become a source of amusement when friends from Europe join us, however I now find it disturbing. Tourism is a much needed revenue here, and I would have thought it was important to get at least English right.
