Fresh paint and tainted politics

The three Baltic states have many unresolved problems, but they also remain one of the undiscovered playgrounds of Europe for western visitors. Those are my main conclusions after two weeks in Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania as a foreign correspondent and travel writer.Immediately apparent was the sheer Westerniza-tion and booming economies of the three states only 15 years after the collapse of communism.
