Fear

On July 22 I plan to be walking in Riga's second annual gay pride parade. While there are a lot of emotions caught up in this event, the greatest one that I feel right now is fear. I am not afraid that other people will think that I am gay. I'm not even afraid that I will get hit with stones or eggs, as the marchers did last year. I was at first, but I'm not anymore. What scares me more than that is the way that I, along with the rest of my friends, will be judged, without any cause or justification.
