Baltics' role in drug trafficking on the rise

MOSCOW (BNS) - The Moscow daily Segodnya reported July 19 that the Baltic countries' role in drug trafficking has increased and says many of the illegal drugs that make it to Russia come through Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia. The paper reported that the World Customs Organization said the Baltic states have begun to play an active role in international drug trafficking.Segodnya reported that drug couriers of different countries use the Baltics to smuggle hashish, cocaine, amphetamines, ecstasy and marijuana into Russia.
