Belarus' economic slide may fill opposition's ranks

It was on Saturday, when no doubts were left, that Belarus is not yet ready for the blue revolution. Oppositional leader Alexander Milinkevich had appealed for another mass demonstration on October Square. The few thousand people who came to protest against the brazenly faked elections did not suffice to impress the superior number of policemen. The demonstration was easily pushed away into a nearby park. When a few hundred marched to a prison where the police had arrested opposition protesters and representatives, the state power once again showed its darkest instincts and beat up the crow...
