Latvian sets Winter Games history

RIGA - Latvian luger Martins Rubenis made history on Feb. 12, winning the first Winter Olympic medal in Latvian history with a bronze in the men's singles.His third-place finish was met with a wave of jubilation by Latvians, who, going into the Games, were hesitant to place too much hope in their 2006 team bringing home a medal. Today, the hope is soaring. Rubenis won the bronze with a time of 3 minutes 26.446 seconds.
