Banker considers buying English football club

RIGA - Latvian banker Valerijs Belokons could become the new owner of England's Blackpool football club. The millionaire oligarch is the only serious contender, club president Karl Oyston said on the blackpooltoday.co.uk website. Oyston has ruled out the chances of the three other bidders. "I would say you could chalk the other three off," he said, adding that the only serious offer was from Belokons. "The Latvians have a number of ideas.
