Latvia's parliamentary sports sub-committee has invited the Latvian Olympic Committee to discuss athletes' preparation for the Winter Olympic Games in Turin. Sub-committee chairman Dzintars Abikis told the Baltic News Service that lawmakers had a number of issues they wanted to discuss with the country's Olympic representation. "There are currently no problems, and we hope to bring home a medal," Abikis said. The Winter Olympics will take place in Turin, Italy on Feb. 10-26.
