Lithuanian cyclist faces eight-month sentence

VILNIUS - A French court has charged Raimondas Rumsas, the first and so far only Lithuanian cyclist to win a prize at the Tour de France, to an eight-month suspended prison term for importing doping substances. The Bonneville court opened two hearings on Nov. 24 against the cyclist and his spouse, Edita Rumsiene, who is accused of transporting banned drugs into France, on top of possession. The state prosecutor requested a six-month suspended sentence for Rumsiene.
