For the first time in years, the Belarusian opposition seems to be unified in its effort to remove the autocratic regime in Minsk. At a convention on Oct. 1 's2, all opposition parties elected Alexander Milinkevich as the single candidate to run against Alexander Lukashenko in the 2006 presidential elections.
