Famous saxophonist Candy Dulfer fills house in Latvia

RIGA (BNS) - World-famous saxophonist Candy Dulfer played a sold-out show last week in Latvia.

The Dzintari concert hall in the Latvian seaside resort Jurmala where Dulfer performed July 21, was actually overcrowded.

Some 2,500 people attended the concert organized by BDG Latvija, according to spokeswoman Liana Ozolina.

Dulfer performed for two hours and treated the audience to "Lilly Was Here," the song she usually does not perform at concerts, but which she played for her Latvian fans.

The famous saxophonist arrived in Riga on July 21 and had a sightseeing tour around the city before leaving for the concert site in Dzintari.

Dulfer, who was inspired by her father jazz tenor Hans Dulfer, has played saxophone since she was seven,. She founded the group "Funky Stuff" when she was 14.

She has performed together with stars such as Dave Stuart, Prince, Van Morrison, Pink Floyd etc.

Her debut album "Sexuality" was nominated for a Grammy Award.

Her most recent album, "For the Love of You", was released in 1997 and stayed at the top of the Billboard charts for over 14 weeks.
