Biedrins starts to carry weight on Warrior roster

RIGA - Nineteen-year-old Andris Biedrins was given a full evening's work this week when Golden State Warrior coach Mike Montgomery threw him into the game for 20 minutes, far more than the young center-forward is used to. Biedrins responded by tallying six points, hitting two of five field goals and sinking both free throws in the Warriors' 122-106 loss to the Denver Nuggets on April 11. Biedrins also racked up four fouls during the 20 minutes. To be fair, this was an improvement on previous matches when the Latvian, who celebrated his 19th birthday on April 2, got into early foul trouble. ...
