VILNIUS - Two more NATO soldiers were attacked in Siauliai this weekend, with two officials of the Danish Royal Air Force falling victim this time around.

The Police Department reported that the two men reported on Saturday that they had been attacked near a cafe located on Vilnius Street. They claimed six persons had beat them and taken a driving license, cellular phone and a wallet with 20 litas (6 euros).

The two men did not require medical attention.

Since the start of the Baltic air-policing mission in April, when the Baltic countries joined the alliance, Belgian and Danish troops have been assaulted, battered and mugged on several occasions.

Great Britain is to take over the patrolling of Baltic airspace on Oct. 14. Two British F-3 Tornados will arrive at the Zokniai airport near Siauliai to replace the Danish F-16 Fighting Falcon team. Two more fighter planes will arrive later, according to reports.
