NEW PREMIER LEAGUE ORDER

  • 2004-09-29
The 24th round of games in the Estonian Premiere League was played Sept. 24 - 25 and it seems that FC Flora's monopoly of the league may finally be brought to an end.

Although Flora annihilated FC Valga 6-1, it is only in third position in the league with 51 points. First-placed FC Levadia and second-placed TVMK played out a goalless draw on Sept. 24. Levadia (pictured with white shirts) now has 56 points, while TVMK remains close behind with 52 points. In the other games, Tulevik tied 2-2 with Merkuur and Narva's Trans beat Lootus 1-0. Trans is in fourth position, way off the pace with 41 points, while Merkuur, with 29 points, is still five points ahead of Tulevik, and the outsiders Valga and Lootus have 13 and 5 points respectively. There are still four more rounds of games to go though, so any of the top three teams can still clinch the title. Levadia last won the Premier League in 2000 and again in 1999.
