VILNIUS - Euromoney named Vilniaus Bankas the best commercial bank in Lithuania for the fifth straight year. The magazine granted two awards to Vilniaus Bankas, the bank reported, the second being the best crediting partner.
"The bank's strategy is predetermined by the needs of our customers and effective money and risk management. Exceptional attention for separate groups of customers is the foundation of the highest evaluations. We believe that this strategy will enable us to strengthen the market further," said Julius Niedvaras, Vilniaus Bankas president.
VB Vilfima, a subsidiary of the Vilniaus Bankas Group, won the award for Lithuania's best M&A adviser.
Vilniaus Bankas, Lithuania's biggest commercial bank by assets, reported a net profit of 60.9 million litas (17.7 million euros) for the first half of 2004, a rise of 4.6 percent rise year-on-year.
