Natural gas consumption in Latvia up 58% in two months

RIGA - The amount of natural gas consumed in Latvia in the first two months of this year increased by 58 percent compared to the same period last year, according to data published by the Central Statistical Bureau.

In January-February 2026, Latvia consumed 4.483 terawatt hours (TWh) of natural gas, while in the respective period last year, 2.837 TWh of natural gas was consumed.

The amount of natural gas consumed in Latvia in February this year was by 29.3 percent higher than in the respective month last year.

LETA already reported that the amount of natural gas consumed in Latvia in 2025 decreased by 1.5 percent compared to 2024 and amounted to 8.832 TWh.
